Maintenance and Care for Your LVP or Laminate Floors

Hogan Flooring delivers expert advice on maintaining and caring for your LVP and laminate flooring. As a trusted flooring contractor based in Dover, NH, we offer insights to keep your floors looking pristine.

  • LVP/LVT: Made from vinyl. Typically has a wear layer or 12 or 20 mil. Low maintenance and cost-effective. Padded bottom layer, waterproof layer, design layer, and design layer. Can be available in both floating or glue-down options. Glue-down is better for high-traffic areas and larger rooms due to its stability.
  • SPC (Stone Plastic Composite) Core: Dense and ridged giving the flooring durability and water resistance. Less prone to expansion and contraction during temperature changes.
  • WPC (Wood Plastic Composite) Core: Offers good water resistance with a slight cushioned feel underfoot. Can be considered more environmentally friendly.
  • Laminate: Multi-Layer synthetic material that imitates the look of wood. Core is made of high-density fiberboard, usually over 80% wood. Printed image that mimics the look of wood. Transparent layer to protect against surface wear and tear. Floating product with attached pad. Water-resistant, scratch-resistant, UV resistant, and a more cost-effective option.
